When we were in France, there was one day we actually couldn't ski because the snow was so heavy! Instead we drove through the Mt. Blanc tunnel to Italy. We saw this old lady, who is now my absolute idol. She was so chic and cool and Italian. She even had a cigarette holder! So I decided to take her picture. I was going to ask her for a proper one but I have roughly 3 words of Italian so I thought better of it for fear of making a complete idiot out of myself. Instead, I managed this, which is really bad because it was taken through a coffee shop window, but I know she was amazing...

Omg a whole week of prelims already over! It's actually gone really fast...
I had geography this morning which I was dreading, but I actually came out OK. It was easier than I'd expected. It's my longest exam though - 2 hours without moving your legs is really, really un-fun.
Off to Daisy's tonight for an Indian themed party... We have to go dressed in "Indian garb" (Daisy's words, not mine). I think I'll wrap one of mum's sarongs round my head like a turban... Haha! No, really.

So history and english are over! Thank god... English went OK - I had questions to answer on a passage, which I think was fine, then 2 essays to write in an hour and a half. I thought I'd be panicking and completely run out of time, but I actually finished 20 minutes early! I think I messed up a couple of quotes though, but apart from that nothing major... But history... Aaaah! I was actually quite confident going in. I hadn't revised too well, but that wasn't a big problem. It was my timing that went completely out the window. I'm not sure what happened, I thought I was watching my time quite closely, but in the end I missed 4 questions! (They weren't all from the end though, so at least I managed to balance out the questions I did answer). God, I'm pissed off! I actually don't understand how I did it, that's what bugs me. I guess I'll just have to try harder next time. Those are two of the harder exams, so hopefully it should get easier.
Maths tomorrow afternoon, which shouldn't be too bad (=/)... It's Daisy's birthday, too, so as I live quite close to school, I've invited everyone up for a pancake party (because it's also Pancake Day tomorrow!) in the morning. I went out and bought 12 eggs, 4L of milk and 2kg of flour today!

Anyway, here's the Ra Ra Riot's video for Dying Is Fine, because this song makes me feel happy and the video is so cute...

issue 8 out now! can't wait to get it...

I'm on exam leave from school now for two weeks! It'll be fun. Of course, there's the slight disadvantage of having to sit an exam almost every day, but I'll have a lot more free time than I usually would.
History and english tomorrow - I've memorised 9 quotes and 2 entire poems for english. Is it just me, or is that utterly unnecessary and pointless? When am I ever going to need to recite 'Dulce Et Decorum Est' from memory again? I'm seriously at a loss here as to how the hell this will be beneficial to me in later life. Sure, I can almost understand that writing essays and knowing when the First World War started may come in handy, but the memorising is just beyond me. It's bloody annoying.

So, because of this, I've taken a bit of a break before embarking on the immense task of revising 3 topics (each of which took over half a year to study in class - here we study for Standard Grades, which means 2 years of studying and an exam at the end, rather than the traditional one year) for history. I'm using this break to write to you and inform you of my activities over the past few days. I warn you, there aren't too many...

Yesterday, I went into town and bought a men's hoodie (size large, so it's enormous). When I got home, I cut my initials from white felt and sewed them to the front, and sewed a fabric badge I purchased when skiing in France to the top of the arm. Now I can at least pretend I've made some brilliant achievement in the sporting world...

I know may face looks weird in the first one... Something strange happened to my camera.

Also watched The Bourne Identity with my dad. I like that film. I must admit, I'm a bit of a sucker for spy/sci-fi movies. I absolutely adore Bladerunner and The Matrix. 'Cause I'm cool like that...

Marry me, Eddie Redmayne?

So I was thinking... I haven't come on here and just waffled for a while. I think it's about time I properly bore you out of your panties again.
Technically, I should be revising right now. I have 14 quotes and 2 poems to memorise before an english exam on Monday. I've got history that morning, too, so it probably wouldn't hurt to be revising that too... Oh well, it can wait. How long can 14 quotes take? =/

I'm currently flicking between this page, Lykke Li's video for Little Bit on Youtube (lol I hadn't notice the guy in his boxers whose 'dancing' seems to comprise of a hell of a lot of crotch-thrusting... funnnnny!) and kabiri.co.uk - where I'm looking for birthday presents. I'll be sixteen exactly 3 weeks tomorrow! I'm currently torn between four rings... this one, this one, this one or this one. The only thing is I don't want to go too expensive, a) because it's only my 16th, so it's not exactly a super huge birthday, and b) because I've got my eye on some other stuff too. Geez, I sound so spoilt! No, I also don't want my parents forking out enormous amounts of money on me... It's not fair. Especially not since, knowing me, I'll probably leave it next to the sink in a public toilet somewhere...

Have I just died and gone to heaven?

-

I'm back from France! Although, technically, I've been back for 2 days, but I've been tired, OK? Considering I haven't even properly unpacked yet, you can't blame me for not posting.
Anyway, I had an amazing time. Here are some photos...

Snow day today, so I'm off school!
I'm off to France on Saturday for a week's skiing, so this will probably be my last post for a little while.

In other news;
It seems I won't be going back to Russia this October! This is because I've been approached about doing an exchange-type-thing with a girl named Camille who lives in Toulouse (France), and I can't afford to do that as well as Russia. I figured that since I went to Russia last year, it makes more sense to do something different this year...
Also, I've decided I'm going to start part-time-job hunting when I get back from skiing. I need money!

Much love, I'll speak soon!

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I was in Russia. It's OK though, 'cause I'm going back in October :)
To commemorate the wonderful time, here are some pictures;

they called this 'the tram of dreams'. it was full of balloons and little pieces of paper that we had to fill out our dreams on, except they were in russian so we didn't really understand. russians are very, very strange...

we had a ball... that's me in the silver dress :)
